"Illustrated Paraguay" - Simona Murialdo (Italy)
Share
Simona Murialdo is a designer with a long career in her native Italy. She is an enthusiast of Paraguay's culture, history and biodiversity. Her vast experience in the world of fashion and design allows her to masterfully and delicately portray the charms of Paraguay's native nature and its people.
Paraguay Ilustrado is a highly expressive and colorful digital blog that has received a surge of interest from thousands of followers on social media. It is the union of painting with technology without leaving aside the traditional craft of drawing.
It is a project in constant development that moves to NFT and augmented reality. In these media, the works take on a new character, a new look, surfing the waves of free verse.
Simona Murialdo follows the same artisanal paths as a painter with an easel, brushes and oils, using a high-definition canvas. Her works are printed on glicée. In this type of inkjet printing, the pigment is deposited on the paper in the form of small drops, 'spraying' the support. The image is printed achieving an incredible degree of detail in the shapes, and can also produce continuous weaves, patterns and tones. The result is a high-quality piece digitalized on Hahnemühle paper but with the appearance of a manual reproduction that imitates the strokes and brushstrokes. This is also known as fine art.
This exhibition traverses the natural landscape to show its beauty and healing qualities. The log proposes an idealized journey with Mother Earth, its foliage, its fruits and its organic relationships between species.
The exhibition is an encounter with everyday and natural environments with the aesthetics of botanical illustrations. They highlight and combine signs and symbols of the territory such as the weaving of ñandutí, samuús, lapachos and coconut flowers.
This new exhibition introduces us to a fauna imagined in wood and inspired by the carvings of indigenous master craftsmen, and gives charismatic prominence to characters from myths and legends.
Simona is an artist who works with love and singular respect. Her gaze and brushstrokes give us back an understanding of a world inhabited by sublime truths. It is an urgent vindication of everything that is in danger of being lost.
