Resonance-
Night of Galleries - Matices Gallery 2018

My proposal focuses on the recreation of sound atmospheres that dialogue with nature, where cicadas appear as a metaphor for transformation and change. Captured between abstract acrylic stains on canvas and non-mimetic forms such as trees, roots, branches... related to origin, roots, and life. Associated at the same time with my pictorial imagination and with the idea of protecting the environment.

Cicadas, known in the Guaraní language as Ñakyra, are insects that inhabit our fields and have a different life cycle. They are known for their shrill song that announces hot weather. They live underground for many years, in the subsoil they feed on the sap of plant roots. They dig tunnels and during this stage they are called "nymphs." Over time they climb the trunks and emerge, they transform and leave their shell, a metamorphosis occurs, they become adults with a short life span, they live one or two months as winged insects or cicadas.
