Collection: EDILTRUDIS NOGUERA

She inherited her work from her mother and has been practicing ceramic sculpture since she was 17 in Tobatí. Today she dreams of leaving her wisdom as a legacy to young people, teaching ceramic work in the subject of fine arts in schools and colleges in her community and other towns in the country. This is Mrs. Ediltrudis Noguera, widow of Gamarra, a ceramics teacher and specialist in sculpture.

Although she learned from her mother how to work with clay in terms of vases and pitchers, she said that along the way she began to like sculptures and began to create images such as the bull and the cow, Adam and Eve, decorative and cultural figures for centerpieces that her clients request. She added that she is often invited to give workshops in Asunción and other parts of the country. The ceramist says that she has eight children, has been a widow for a few years and has always covered the expenses of her home and her children's studies through her work, ceramic sculpture. Currently, she lives with four small children, the youngest is just three years old; with whom she works and teaches so that tomorrow they will be the promoters of this culture that was given by the tradition of several generations.
