Collection: Federico Ordiñana
Federico Ordiñana was born in Asunción on March 13, 1917. In 1939 he obtained a scholarship to study at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de San Carlos (Valencia, Spain). He studied drawing and painting with great masters such as Salvador Tusset, Rafael Sanchis Yago, and José Segrelles. In 1948 he married the Spanish Africa Siles, with whom he had one daughter, also named Africa. At the same time he was consul of Paraguay in Valencia. In 1959 he obtained the post of cultural attaché at the Paraguayan Embassy in Madrid.
After working and living in Madrid, Barcelona, Brussels, Rome, Antwerp, Paris and London, he returned to Asunción in 1983. He was widowed on January 19, 2001, and died in Paraguay on July 18, 2006. His favorite subjects were landscapes, flowers, portraits, and nudes. As a testament to his exquisite art, he left behind works that delight the eyes of those who appreciate aesthetic beauty.
