Collection: TONI ROBERTO
Born in Asunción, he belongs to the first group of artists participating in the Art Education program implemented in Paraguay in the mid-1970s at Cristo Rey School by Olga Blinder. From 1980 to 1986, he trained in design and color workshops with masters Livio Abramo and Edith Jiménez. Since then, he has held solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in renowned galleries and museums both in Paraguay and abroad.
The sensitivity of a pianist mother, the discipline of an Italian immigrant father, and the stories she heard at home shaped her art. “My great-grandmother, Gertrudis, was the daughter of a survivor of the Battle of Acosta Ñu,” she says. Over time, she realized that the anecdotes of her great-grandmother and her caregiver—among other stories from Asunción at the beginning of the 20th century—were fundamental in shaping her art.
One hundred percent from Asunción, Toni Roberto was born and raised in the General Díaz neighborhood, whose countless experiences, full of stories and beautiful memories, shape his drawings.
